celebrating atwater at canele.

so, we bought a house! and in atwater village - one of our favorite LA neighborhoods. well, technically, we're atwater adjacent, but minor details aren't important here! to celebrate after officially moving in, we went to dinner at a gem in the 'hood, canele. this was my third time there, but james's first. and we brought the bottle of veuve cliquot our real estate agents gave us when we closed on the house.

since we were celebrating, we went all out! four appetizers and two entrees! the burrata with roasted broccoli, cauliflower and balsamic currants, shaved brussels sprouts salad with fourme d'ambert and hazelnuts, seafood salad and pancetta pasta with pistachio and parmesan. our only complaint was that the seafood salad was super heavy with olives, which wasn't mentioned (it was a special) and james hates olives and had to pick around them.

james had the pork chop with cavolo nero and cannellini beans, and i had the lamb osso buco with yukon golds, sweet pepper ragout and harissa. i think the dessert was a hazelnut cake (it was an off-menu special for the evening and my memory completely blows). everything was delicious as usual. we're really stoked to be in the neighborhood and start exploring even more atwater eats.
