the thorntons.

this post is really just a collection of some of the family we hung out with while visiting alabama. the first few take place on james' grandparents's property. there is lots of awesome old stuff there! and i staked claim to the old fridge above. it still works! don't you think it'd be so pretty in a nice seafoam green?

there are also chestnut trees, which i've never seen before. nor have i seen what chestnuts look like in-shell. and man, are those spiky. i was bitten by a couple through my TOMS because i wasn't being careful enough (but really, they were everywhere and not really avoidable). we spent quite some time gathering chestnuts with the three generations of thornton men (all in red and mustaches!).

and finally, before we went to the airport to fly home, we spent some time at a mall in birmingham with james's sister and her two kids. is it just me, or are all little boys (especially nephews!) total hams?
