we met our friends justin and sarah, and their adorable little one ella, at the sycamore kitchen for brunch recently. it was a cool but sunny day, perfect for brunch!
i absolutely loved their cozy and brightly lit industrial feel, and the food was great too! we started with our usual cappucino and latte (they serve stumptown!), and a butter cup. all their pastries looked delicious, but we settled for just this one, and it was delicious! a cup-shaped croissant with a slightly gooey center and sugary top - it was kind of somewhere in the middle of a croissant and a morning bun, now that i think of it.
to eat, james had the pork belly hash with roasted peppers and onions, russet potatoes, two fried eggs, spinach (above) and i had the croque madame with béchamel and a fried egg on grilled country bread (below). james said the hash was good, though i personally didn't have any, because i was so enamored with my croque madame. really, very, very delicious.
