cliff's edge hideaway.

we went to cliff's edge in silverlake for the first time for brunch a several weekends ago. it's kind of hidden away, despite being right on sunset, and i've driven past it a bunch of times over the past two to three years without ever realizing it was there.

we sat out in the back patio area, which was really great. multiple levels of decking and surrounded by trees, you really felt like you were not in silverlake. a hideaway/getaway for sure. we started with some very tasty blood orange mimosas.

james had the fried chicken with rosemary, waffle, whipped maple butter, bourbon syrup (above) and i had the creamy grits with baked egg, chorizo bolognese, piquillo, cotija ,cilantro. this is definitely another really great, solid brunch spot in silverlake (and there are already so many!). there are so many other items on the brunch menu that i still want to try, so we will definitely be back.
