THIS. PLACE. IS. AMAZING. i have been dreaming about these tacos since i had them last week, and want to go back every day. maybe this week i will be successful. i couldn't decide what to order so i had the taco sampler (above) which features their two steak (steak picado, bistek en salsa rojo), two chicken (mole poblano, tinga de pollo) and two pork (chicharron, cochinita pibil) tacos. they are all amazing. the tortillas are made in-house - i love that they make the mini ones for the sampler - and really, very good. i don't usually like corn tortillas as they get mushy and don't hold up well, but these are perfect. the chicharron was kind of a revelation. it was so good, i went back and ordered a whole taco of it on its own, and i was not disappointed. i could eat that taco all day long.
james ordered all of the pork tacos (so in addition to the ones i had, he also had the chuleta en salsa verde and chorizo) as well as a the mole poblano. below is the full cochinita pibil - and that super dangerous habanero salsa on top. it's really good, and the pickled onions throw it over the top. james got a spiciness level of six, but a 3-4 was more than spicy enough for me.
above, on the right, is the even more dangerous chiles torreados, which is a vegetarian taco of just chiles and my brother was brave enough to order it, but i think he regretted it.i'm not sure which the ones below are. i think a shrimp taco, the tinga de pollo, and the other i really don't know.
in recap, i love this place. it's amazing. i want to go back. every. day. i think i will be getting the sampler plus an extra taco chicharron (or two), and an horchata (i forgot, the horchata is amazing! get it, too!) in the future.
unrelated: i am so close to being completely caught up on blog posts! this is the last one that's over a week old!
