spleen panino and cured mangalitsa.

we went to UMAMIcatessen for dinner on friday night, and i couldn't have been happier with my meal. i ordered the spleen panino off the p!gg menu (of course) and it was even better than the hoof&mouth banh mi-style sandwich i had last time.  spicy and game-y and savory and sweet - SO. GOOD.

we contemplated ordering off the cured meats menu, but decided not to UNTIL after we were done eating and i noticed that they had MANGALITSA on the freaking menu. and i felt like such an idiot for not ordering it, i just had to. and it was so delicious and fatty and flavorful.

finally, for dessert, we tried the donuts we hadn't had yet, the german chocolate and tres leches. both delicious. but the tres leches had the added bonus of having a mini donut hole stuck in the middle.
