philadelphia : the sights.

ah, the beautiful sunrise in philadelphia from our cab from the airport. we were exhausted, but couldn't check into a room so after some coffee and breakfast, we were up and on our way. we did independence hall, the liberty bell and the magic gardens, all before lunch!

random statue in old city, but i thought it was pretty cool looking.

and i do love city hall - so gorgeous and in the middle of the "urban jungle".

james pointed this out to me, which i never noticed before, but there are four columns in one of city hall's entryways, and each one is being held up by men and women of a different race. there were whites, blacks, asians, and native americans. very interesting look into the history of the city (and country!).

and of course the LOVE statues. the first is in center city, by city hall, the second was the next day on penn campus.

another very cool place we stopped by, but i couldn't take pictures inside of, was the mutter museum, which is full of weird and crazy medical anomalies and diseases and skeletons and molds and preserved parts and diagrams. it was insane. and awesome. and i never knew it was there!
