levitated mass @ LACMA.
james's parents were in town on sunday, and his dad has wanted to visit the la brea tar pits for quite awhile now. sunday also happened to be the opening of LACMA's new outdoor installation levitated mass. so after brunch at tart, we parked at LACMA, walked over to check out the tar pits for a bit, then went to see LA's giant new rock.
it's rather impressive, but it really is just a rock. if anything, the concrete work for the pathway and structure was just as, if not more, impressive.
