santa barbara eats: arnoldi's and jeannine's.

while in santa barbara for wine tasting, we stopped at two places to eat. the first, was arnoldi's cafe for dinner on sunday night. the second, was jeannine's restaurant in downtown santa barbara for breakfast on monday morning before heading back into LA.

we sat outside at arnolidi's, which was very nice. and to the left of everything you can see above, are two bocce courts, which james was very excited about. as were all the children in the restaurant who wanted to run and scream on it instead of sitting down for their dinners, so it ended up being kind of annoying. the food, which was italian american, was pretty good. service wasn't the greatest, but i think our server got stuck with three large parties all at once, so maybe not entirely his fault.

the next morning, we met two of mike's friends at jeannine's for breakfast. they had just adopted a little girl from uganda (i think) - and had literally brought her home maybe two weeks ago. what an ittle cutie pie. anyway, the food was great. i had their turkey sausage scramble and james had huevos rancheros.

the biggest disappointment of the weekend was the lack of seafood! both my brother and i love santa barbara for the sea urchin, but we called the fish market and just about every seafood restaurant in the city and no one had any! even jeannine's which had a few lobster dishes, were out of lobster. i guess that's what happens when you go on a holiday weekend.
