goodmeats @ lindy&grundy and sunday dinner.

i'll admit that part of the reason we drove out to the fairfax area to have brunch at tart, was so that i could stop by lindy and grundy afterward. i've been dying to go but never seem to have the opportunity to, and reading their twitter updates just makes my mouth water. so we went! and the goal was just to be inspired by what they had in-shop to make our sunday dinner.

i absolutely love that they are an old-fashioned "nose-to-tail" butcher shop. they just have so many more offerings, and can do specialty orders too. i know where i'm getting all my offals in the future!

we left with a small rack of lamb short ribs, a split marrow bone, and a pork top sirloin.

the first i braised with tomatoes, garlic, shallots, soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, pepper and a pinch of cinnamon. the marrow bones i just drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper and threw in the oven for fifteen minutes. and the pork sirloin i fried in my grill pan for a few minutes on each side, also with just olive oil, salt and pepper. i bought a small baguette and some bok choy (split and grilled) to go with the meats.

and oh my goodness it was all so delicious! the meat was just so flavorful, and of impeccable quality.

we finished dinner with some local roma chocolates we had bought at lindy and grundy as well. like a homemade snickers bar, but about a million times better.

Loving your blog! I have just accepted a job at DW to work on Me and My Shadow and will be moving from Melbourne, Australia to LA. So reading about all the awesome places to visit from someone I will hopefully get to work with has been great.

Look forward to reading more - its making me very hungry!
